In our ever-expanding Universe, there are billions upon billions of galaxies. Those galaxies themselves contain billions upon billions of planets. Even a tiny fraction of a galaxy is home to endless possibilities, worlds with diamond cores, raspberry-flavored dust clouds and maybe, even intelligent life, whatever one can mean by that. Space does have its drawbacks, however. Gazing at a star-specked night sky may not properly convey it but most everything is incredibly far away, as Space, understandably, has a lot of space in it. Even travelling within a star system would seem like a daunting task, with distances measured in numbers so large that they mean nothing to most people.

And yet, we have an almost instinctive desire to explore this endless expanse. To understand it. And to imagine what it would be like to travel from world to world, experiencing all the beauty and madness our massive, mostly empty, and likely uncaring Universe has to offer. This desire has propelled different civilizations on different worlds. We may feel alone but there is more out there. Maybe we will one day explore the vastness of the cosmos, go to the places light has yet to reach. But for now, we must start a bit smaller.

In our ever-expanding Universe there are billions upon billions of galaxies. One of those galaxies, known to some as the Milky Way, may be divided into hundreds of smaller pieces, known as Sectors. And one of them is bustling with peril and excitement, tragedy, joy and, most important of all, adventure.
